The ideal position for a relaxing break, the hotel is set within a 10-minute walk of the village of Windermere and the famous lake at Bowness Bay.
Exclusively for non-smoking adults (children over 12 welcome), the hotel is within easy reach of a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. The train and bus stations are also within a 15-minute walk, allowing you to explore the wonderful surroundings.
During your stay you can visit Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England. Accessed in the nearby village of Bowness, here you can hire boats or take lake cruises. Alternatively you can visit the Beatrix Potter attraction, found 10 minutes away on-foot.
The hotel offers free access to the nearby luxury leisure club.
To ensure a peaceful night's sleep there is no access to the building after 00:30.

St John's Lodge is the food lover's choice, it probably offers the largest selection of breakfast menu in the area, from a touring visitor’s point of view, or if you prefer healthier alternatives, this is a refreshing change.
Vegetarians, vegans and people on gluten-free diets will be amazed by the variety of homemade dishes available, along with traditional English dishes. The small team of chefs certainly takes pride in the cooking and presentation of the food.

By Car:
From North or South:
- Take the M6.
- Exit at junction 36.
- Follow signs to the South Lakes and Kendal. This road is the A590/A591.
- Follow the A591 to Windermere and then signs to the town centre.
- Drive through the village towards Bowness and the lake. This road is 'New Road'.
- After around 800 metres, there is a Catholic church on the left. St John's Lodge is approximately 90 metres on the left-hand side (If you reach the police station or the lake then you have gone too far).
